Tiling work in Ireland is charged at 13.5% VAT - the reduced rate for construction, repair and maintenance work on immovable property. It covers your labour and the tiles and materials you fit as part of the job, unless they cost more than two-thirds of the price (VAT excluded), when the whole job goes to 23%. If your turnover for services stays below €42,500 in a calendar year, you do not have to be VAT-registered.
