VAT for plumbers
Plumbing work on buildings in Ireland is 13.5% VAT, labour and materials together - unless the materials cost more than two-thirds of the price, when the whole job is 23%. Heat pump heating systems are 9%. In the UK most plumbing work is 20%, including boiler swaps; heat pumps and other energy-saving installs in homes are 0% until 31 March 2027.
