VAT for builders
Construction work in Ireland is 13.5% VAT, and subcontract work for a principal contractor under RCT goes on the reverse charge - no VAT on your invoice, the principal accounts for it. In the UK most building work on existing homes is 20%, new-build houses and flats are 0%, and CIS subcontract work can fall under the domestic reverse charge.
