VAT note
Construction work in Dublin - and across Ireland - is charged at 13.5% VAT. Whether it is a house extension in Clontarf or a commercial fit-out in the Docklands, the reduced rate covers your labour and the materials you supply as part of the job, unless the materials cost more than two-thirds of the price, when the whole job goes to 23%. Subcontract work for a principal contractor under RCT is invoiced without VAT under the reverse charge.
